Located about 831 m (2,726 ft) above sea level, Horanadu is a small temple town, surrounded by lush greenery of Western Ghats in Chickmagaluru district of Karnataka, which is called as Malanad region too. It has an unique combination of sereneness and rich spiritual heritage & culture.
Horanadu is well known to the outside world, due to the adobe of Goddess Annapurneshwari in the Annapurneshwari Temple. Goddess Annapurneshwari, the main diety was placed by Adi Shankaracharya, but a new diety, made completely of gold, was placed in 1973.
Mahamangalarati is offered every day at 9:00 am, 1:30 pm and at 9:00 pm. Kunkumarchana pooja starts every day at 11:00 am and at 7:00 pm.
